The High Museum of Art is the leading art museum in the Southeast, with more than 14,000 works of art in its permanent ollection. The Museum has an extensive collection of 19th and 20th-century American and decorative art, European paintings, African art, modern and contemporary art, folk art, and photography. The High also launched a “Picturing the South” program which commissions emerging and establish photographers to create artwork inspired by the Southern landscape.
